Quintin, a Completionist and a Legend, upset by Team Member Christy in two games
Welcome back to the Team. Sorry we’ve been busy for quite some time since the editorial team have been spending the early days of a much needed Spring and Summer Break. Our Team is looking to play more games when our time allows. For now, we got some interesting Highlights coming up right now, about a legend who takes a loss.
Out of surprise, Christy who has been practicing her sports is getting better. She may not be a Legend just yet, but has defeated one. Taking place in Nintendo Switch Sports Online, it has been done in a Friend’s Room. Recently, Quintin who is Infinity Ranked, completed all of the items and has ranked A in every sport is upset by newcomer Christy.
By seeing Christy’s performance, he would fall behind in the first round. As round two strikes, things could have taken a road for worse, but a massive turnaround happens. This post will cover the two games they have played the day they met for a 1v1 meeting.
Game 1: Immediate Lead and Legendary HIO!
Quintin and Christy’s first 1v1 meeting in NSS Golf. They began in Hole 1 where both has Birdied to start off as usual. It was only in the second hole where the competition took an impressive turn for Christy’s favor.
Hole 2 was the best out this game. Quintin decided to go for the roll-in shot as he lines up for one. Christy was also careful as she lines up carefully for the Flag Shot. As she carefully aligns the shot, Quintin hits the side of the hole missing it, and then Christy hits the flag perfectly for a Hole In One shot which she gets. AMAZING CHRISTY. Had she missed the flag, she would have not been too far away from the Hole.
Meanwhile, with the Hole in One in play, Quintin misses his easy Birdie Putt as he suffers a Par. He is now two down as a result of the miss. Christy continues her top form run as he brings in an Eagle on the 3rd hole, giving her a -5 and the top of the lead. With Quintin still behind, they both did not make the green on Hole 4 as they overhit their shots. They could not get Birdie points as they got a Par each.
Maintaining the lead to win for the first time!
The scores continued to be separated by a margin of 2 and Christy continued her top form for the next few holes. Quintin would soon mess up in one hole, bring the lead by 3 for Christy. Christy’s other slip was in Hole 8 as she Pars, only then, bringing the margin down to two again.
She would finish off by securing an Eagle on Hole 9 as she approaches the hole to win it all. She has defeated a Legend for the first time as well with a need of Shot Assist. Christy finishes off with a -11 personal best game as the Hole In One moment was the best moment in her run.
She definitely shocked Quintin by pulling off such a shot that is easy to do. This was her fourth Hole in One overall as she made three more Hole in Ones in the past. Quintin wanted to play once more to redeem himself.
Game 2: Dethroning the Legend for a 2nd Time
In the first hole, both players did managed to see a Birdie, same goes for the 2nd hole. 3rd hole saw Christy mildly slip, giving a lead to Quintin early in the game now. She misses an Eagle Putt while Quintin delivers with an impressive hard putt. What a turn around.
They continuously focus for the top spot with Quintin going up ahead by 1. In Hole 5, Quintin unleashes an impressive shot after landing in a bad position that blocked his way. He recovered far back with a Backspin Eagle from behind. Quintin saves his lead from over 100+ yards behind. Impressive. Christy made it through the fairway and made it through the green, giving her a Putt for Eagle. Still not enough and just four holes to go.
They still continued to match the same score in holes 6, 7 and 8 with all of them being Birdies. Predictor is that Quintin will win by one point. In hole 9, things took a huge turnaround. Winds were intense, Quintin and Christy both went to the shortcut route, Quintin suffers a far away shot again while Christy is on the Fringe. She needed an Eagle in order to see what will happen.
The turning point of the game….
Christy does claim the Eagle while Quintin on the other hand, misses his Eagle shot. Not only a miss, but puts him in a tough situation, not being on the green once again. He needs to get the Birdie to finish with a Closest to Pin game. He takes the risk and goes for a 3 Wood Shot and ultimately misses it, going Out of Bounds in the process. By missing, he conceded the win over to Christy for a second time.
All Quintin could do is finish off. He makes the flag shot in his 2nd try which misses the Hole. He suffers a Bogey and dives down to 2nd place with a -7. Christy wins it all with a -10. Two wins, being double digits for a strong performance overall.
Quintin and Mr B.F.F has praised Christy, quoting her as a potential player who focuses hard. Mr B.F.F did see her performance and it shows. Christy defeated the Legend twice in a row for her solid form in those games. She will be a unique player to the Global Games, as she won three sessions as 1st.
