We got some more headlines for our Team Members as one of them got into another Mario Kart 8 Collab, this time on the Deluxe version with the one and only QuintinYT. Mr B.F.F participated in the Collab to a great extend of his Head to Head score. Last month, both players paired up for a Play in January where Quintin posed as a Mr B.F.F Mii, playing Online in the same footing, seeing Mr B.F.F in a situation where the results were mixed as both Quintin and Mr B.F.F brought big race wins, not knowing who would take which. They were doing some normal racing, but as soon as they collaborated once more, they decided to do Battle Games to shake things up. Here’s the Short and Best Picks off Today’s Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Highlights.
Collab starts in Coin Runners – Best Moment that started the score off right……
The Collab kicks off in Coin Runners where you claim tons of coins scattered in a Track and convert the coins into winning points. Mr B.F.F and Quintin seemed to be the only competitive players in the round, who have been picking up more coins, and from their CPUs who keeps slipping and messing around in the process. It was only then that Mr B.F.F and Quintin needed to have their hands around each other as they needed to take out coins on their sides to keep claiming.
As the time progresses, they just needed to focus on getting the coins in. When Mr B.F.F captured the most coins on a running time, he has the crown. He had to keep himself lowkey in order to find himself on top of the Pack. He needed to protect himself with a shield of three Green shells which he gets after rolling through the items. Since he had a Red Shell, he aimed it at Quintin, firing off where it needed to be. He lost three coins and couldn’t take the top spot after running finding coins where he couldn’t get them on time.
After the long and late process, Mr B.F.F locked the Win after the time was up, sealing in 25 coins – 25 points while Quintin was the runner-up with a decent portion of 20 Coins for 20 Points. The Fight for Wins in the Collab continued with Balloon Battle and Bomb-omb Blast being the other games where Mr B.F.F and Quintin had wins in their tracks.
First Victory in Shine Runners and Claiming the Crown:
Now, cutting to the chase as Mr B.F.F had the most wins where he has the Winning Crown. The Final Two Games that had Quintin in reach for the Crown, closed the session was Renegade Round-Up and Shine Runners. Shine Runners went first, and Mr B.F.F felt that the game was easy, but however, Quintin can run away with the Shine that he gets, considering he has played this game several times on his own. Mr B.F.F was totally unaware of what was going to be the outcome.
Mr B.F.F had a good pace as he managed to keep the Shine standing alone for a couple of seconds. It was only then the CPUs gave it his run when they finally hit him with a grueling item. The CPUs were able to keep their clocks ticking but it was all on our Human Players to stop them from winning. On the other hand, Quintin was able to start the countdown as he was able to get the Shine. He was able to last for 12 seconds until he was thrown off by another CPU for which he tied with Wario for +12 seconds.
Mr B.F.F needed to finish the job by knocking out Dry Bowser to regain the shine to complete his countdown. As a result of the time he cleared, he had held the Shine for the Game, and had won a first over Quintin, tied for 2nd in Shine Runners. for which he also claimed the Crown going into the Final Game. He called it a surprising game out of the other Battle Games, since it was easy to do in the Local Sessions, but had practice with it since you can drive around it in the track as long as you don’t get hit in the process.
Closest Game Ever in Renegade Round-Up and Victory
Renegade Round-up was probably the closest games ever seen in the session, according to Team Member Mr B.F.F. Quintin had to bring his A Game as he had CPUs, now his Allies to help him reach the win. The score would be 52 – 51 in Mr B.F.F’s favor and he needed to win to claim 10 points and the Closing Crown victory over the Canadian. If he was to win this game, he would still be behind following the Match stats, as he would be two more wins behind of Mr B.F.F. Quintin hopes he can win this Collab in a 4 – 2 situation.
Playing in the same track in Urchin Underpass, Quintin had to pick the course and it was chosen. The only thing was he had to hope his allies were able to catch the opposing team’s member and catch them into the cage.
In a shocking turn of events, the opposing team has captured a majority of the running members, including Team Member, Mr B.F.F who faces a tough situation. Mr B.F.F was bound to lose as he had one player left standing from his team, uncaptured. He needed to be freed if he has a better chance of winning. Calling out for help dearly, and hoping lucky stars arrive in the Process, he had to hope that Larry makes it all the way. Soon, the unthinkable happens.
That Moment That Made A Sigh of Relief
Following the moment of truth and the shocking turn around, Larry, the CPU manages to unlock the Cage just in time, freeing Mr B.F.F as well. While being freed, he just had to dodge for another 30 seconds for which he gets caught promptly once more. Then, once again, he was swiftly freed and time ran out before they could capture ALL members of the team. This gave Mr B.F.F a total win by one point over Quintin in a close game ever.
If it wasn’t for CPU Larry, I would have lost big time in the final game. Mr B.F.F hanged on to the crown as the pair disconnected as they parted ways for now. Team Member, Mr B.F.F praised the final two games, as the closest and competitive games in the Collab. I had to stretch my fingers a little bit more to retain the 1st Place Crown. Mr B.F.F will be looking forward to continue to winning the races and battles with Quintin in another Future Collab.
Conclusion of the Collab:
In the end, our reigning player, Mr B.F.F would win Three More Games in Battle Mode while Quintin scored his Three in the same format. Mr B.F.F continues to hold a commanding score over Quintin for the most wins running at 7 – 4. It’s still a close score for the players respectfully but will Quintin be able to turn it around? It certainly seems that there is potential and we await to see what will regular races will hold for our Two Players. It’s going to be about time when they arrange a meet-up to face off in MK8D once more.
Final Improvements…..
Although it’s a similar to the previous score seen in the 1st collab, Mr B.F.F is hoping to improve by extending the lead against Quintin by bringing in more wins in the future. Other scores in the making such as the fiercest Super Gameboy who was featured in a separate collab has leads over several friends online. Mr B.F.F is hoping to match the skill that he has and apply that to other friends who have Mario Kart 8 and who is able to play online.
