Two members are getting closer to 10K VR in Mario Kart 8 for the Wii U.
It may have taken some time but the focus coming ahead is the VR Grinding. Just recently, after taking an extremely long break in November 2023 with a majority of the members with the Team, the group recently got back into Mario Kart 8 grinding again on the Wii U version while the Online Servers are still up at this very moment.
During the stretch, Mr B.F.F had reached 9,000 VR in the process, making way towards the last days of grinding before he can reach 10K VR. S. Gameboy is also in line ahead to reach 10K as well. Mr B.F.F currently holds 9,500 VR while S. Gameboy has 9,700 VR. They are closing in on 10K VR very soon. They hope to reach the mark as they have the time to do so in the coming days. Here’s what’s happening so far and what does Mr B.F.F think about the grind so far.
How things looked up for Mr B.F.F during the VR Grinding so far…
During this week, Mr B.F.F saw an incredible improvement from the old days of grinding, now seeing much more improvement. He jump started his campaign in the 9,000s, seeing a bunch of high placement finishes. He has earned 250 VR within a day, then earning another 250, also carrying three wins during his session. Mr B.F.F bumped his VR and didn’t seek to drop any.
Mr B.F.F commented about his grinding so far: “These last few weeks have been very tough for me apparently and now, I’ve been pushing to my very best. Only thing stopping me is the items. If the other racers do so well, it can pressure me at times but I refuse to lose. I want to make sure I stay at the highest level to ensure I get 10K VR and not mess up too much. Everything looks fine so far so I have no problems.”
Mr B.F.F also noted his early participation with a voice call in November with the Team and a special guest content creator, also motivated him. “Playing with my fellow friends, Quintin, Super Gameboy, Miguel, Marcus and Nilly in a session in November 2023 was a friendly one, but has been the resource for me to find my inner strength where it all began.”
“Learning from past races and see how things were, playing for hours with my friends, just really motivates me in my grind to 10K VR and they have helped me make this possible too. I wanna shout-out my fellow friends because that inspires me, the very most.”
What does Mr B.F.F take away from the experience to the road to 10K VR?
Mr B.F.F realizes that he saw increased performance and skill since playing the game and is hoping to finish off the grind before Nintendo shuts down their Online Service for the Wii U in early April. The goal is possible since there is still plenty of time, right now in January 2024. He is confident he can reach 10K VR just before the shutdown, knowing how well his performances have been recently. I’m sure other people, like you have also been grinding and I wish you all the best of luck too!
This is also something that Mr B.F.F can carry the legacy, the strength and the performances onto Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. He said in a statement: “I do plan to play Deluxe with friends and other who have the game and we can play along on the Switch once the Online Servers go off for the Wii U in April. Knowing that there are more tracks, notably the wave of tracks released, this will make things more interesting.”
Mr B.F.F is nearing 2,000 VR in Deluxe, but knows there is room for improvement as well. One of the issues that may affect his driving is the right drifting joycon. It will slow him down if it’s if the right joycon stick moved when activated. He will need to overcome that problem if he wants to see success in the races.
He has also stated that he has much interest to the game as long as he does not have any trouble with other players pressuring his ability as well. Mr B.F.F has confidence and does plan to get back into VR grinding more often if he can keep up with the results and performances from the previous sessions as well. At times, that continued participation is more likely.
Looking at the older races. It brings a lot of spirit as well, during a lengthy grind.
Mr B.F.F also looked back at a video where he recorded his testing video. He saw when he only had 4,000 VR. It was only a few weeks during the opening grind and has been looking back at it too. It does bring back a few memories when he took up to grind. He is looking to finish off the grinding on a strong note. We will see what happens.
S. Gameboy, on the other hand, does want to achieve the 10K VR feat, as quickly as possible. One of his concerns was that as long as he would earn VR, then he would express interest in playing and even grinding for the 10K VR. The last few days of searching, didn’t find many people playing. Can the boys try to find better lobbies so they can find a way to claim VR as they climb up the results?
