This Week’s Focus: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Back to the 3DS

What’s next for our players and for AJ for the next two weeks.

Hello everyone, and welcome back to our Team. It’s March. Lots of stuff happened, including the last two months to open 2024. The Team has been playing Fun and Games out in the field on the Nintendo Switch. This week, we focus on what games we plan to play within the next two weeks. An honorable game that we can also mention is the return of Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics.

This week should mostly become pretty chill. If everyone is available during this time, then it should be fun for everyone to enjoy Fun and games. It’s also the final full month of the Nintendo Wii U and 3DS Online Services being active. It will be discontinued next month, so we expect a celebration and a bunch of live streams and videos being documented on that. More info to come in the coming weeks.

Without further ado, let’s get into discussing updates!

Quintin’s focus on Deluxe: 99,999 VR Goal

Quintin stressed the fact that he wants to go for max VR on Deluxe. He’s gotten the dedication to do so, since he’s been playing for plenty of hours. Until he completes the grind, he will set the game aside, if he plays the game with friends, but he won’t be leaving Deluxe too soon.

So far, he’s been getting 1,000 VR a day, 7,000 VR a week, and was able to cruise through 60, 70 and 80K VR. Along the way, he’s gotten supporters, and friends helping him out on the grind, evening joining a nickname clan. Meanwhile as he is progressing on the grind, he permits us, as friends, to join in and play with him. Sometimes, when works on the grind alone, he encourages us to earn VR on our ways along the road.

As long as Quintin and his driving form continues to satisfy, then he will be able to reach 99,999 VR in no time.

Mr B.F.F expressed his interest to play the game, even for potential hours in hopes to seek form. He would like it if he gained 10,000 VR when he shows up for future races. So he began the chance to grind on his own and with friends on the way to 10K VR. The problem is that small lobbies, such as 1,000 VR lobbies won’t earn much. Even 2nd place only gives 5 or 10 VR at a time while 1st gives an extremely low number of 12 or 15.

Higher lobbies, results in bigger results. That’s what happened when Mr B.F.F somehow clutched out first in Twisted Mansion (S. Gameboy’s favorite track) against 9 players holding 10K+ VR. He earned a whopping 33 VR, something you don’t see everyday.

The focus is that if Mr B.F.F can keep up with his form, then there will be no worries about collecting VR if the results come in consistent. Though they are pressured by next-gen players, unexpected guests and/or higher level lobbies who have tempered the Team’s consistent performance.

Here are AJ’s head to head results against his fellow members of the gaming community. He does not lead against his fellow opponents and best friends but some of the easier opponents he leads in his favor.

The Return to Mario Kart 7 highlights…

With just a final month of Online Servers left for the Nintendo Wii U and 3DS family of systems to go, the Team expressed interest on the classic Mario Kart 7 for the 3DS. Quintin first brought up the idea and AJ also expressed his interest in returning.

There was also a viewer who wanted AJ to return to MK7 as they wanted to play against him, during an interview with them. AJ has 15,000 VR loaded in there so he has played it in a long time, so should we expect a return? The last time he played it, he helped Quintin make his debut in online but with AJ back at square one.

Other friends has told to the press that they haven’t reached 10K VR and was hoping to do so. However, since it’s the final month of the Online Server, they won’t have much time to grind. Though we wish them all the very best of luck if they want to go on. ๐Ÿ™‚

Even more 3DS games will be highlighted.

AJ does plan to use his 3DS again. Aside from Mario Kart 7 that’s open to him, he also has other games. Tomodachi Life, Miitopia, Pilotwings Resort and Rusty’s Real Deal Baseball, which uses Mii Characters. Another online game to play is Mario Golf World Tour. S. Gameboy has a copy of that game, and AJ could possibly return to the game, either playing online or locally, by himself.

With the online servers shutting down, there are always good opportunities to try and play those great games before it is no longer possible to play online with friends. Some More Mario Party Superstars headline…

Whenever, we join a meeting over a voice call, our focus turns to Superstars. Mr B.F.F, S. Gameboy and Quintin will decide upon joining Mario Party Superstars to fill up the calendar for March. A document is in the works to record all of the game played. There were 11 games for February played and 14 in January. March may be even the most craziest after February has the most interesting, and the greatest game ever in Woody Woods.

The three previous sessions included two Yoshi’s Tropical Island games and Horror Land. S. Gameboy won the first Yoshi’s Tropical Island game, avoiding a series of game changing moves, which would have ousted him, before losing on Horror Land, after a chance time space drastically changed the outcome. He went on a three game winning streak before losing in Horror Land to champion, Mr B.F.F.

The next game required an exhibition match to warm up for the main event!

The next session required a warm-up of Peach’s Birthday Cake on 10 turns, waiting for their fourth opponent, Nilly. The exhibition took place there, where S. Gameboy clutched out a victory, secured by rolling double 10s with the Double Dice, and rolling the required number for chance time. His victory can be compared when he pulled off a successful chance time, to win it all.

Though everyone was ready to go, Nilly prevailed on the second Yoshi’s Tropical Island board, having been a close outcome the second time around.

And now, another game is planned. Which board will it be next? What aspects will be the main focus for the next session? There are some good strategies in mind that the players can on for the next game. We can share more information as soon we start playing Mario Party Superstars with friends once again. Stay tuned for that.

And that concludes our small update for what’s coming next. Let’s see how well this week and the next goes. If you ever see us online, feel free to join us for some more fun. Or just stay tuned for more updates from our Team!
